This has got to be one of the 5 best games ever made in my opinion, right up there with resi4, fire emblem and pokemon, and is infact an improvement on the first game, while it may have a different soundtrack to the first game it is not a worse one. The tracklist is made to fit players of the first game more than anything as it has numourous patterns that never got a look in in the first game, and also the tracklist is much harder for those that conquered the first game. i had just a few days previous to buying the game got four stars on all the sonjgs on expert on the origonal, and was looking for a new challenge, which guitar hero 2 offered by making me fail tracks again, and i still can't do Jordan. However it's guitar hero 2's improvements on the origonal that make it shine, and there are three main areas of improvement. Firstly the multiplayer is now a hell of a lot more varied with the addition of co-op mode allowing a freind/family member/paid hobo, to play base or rythem which not only makes the game more enjoyable, but slightly cooler to play within a group. also the vs. option has now gain pro face off making both players play the entire song, making for a more fair fight. Area improvement number 2 is the selection of tracks, there are now 64 tracks with the comeback of some old favorites like freezepop, the acrobrats and artillary from the origonal. There are 40 licenced tracks most of which are brillaint and go brilliantly with the game, however tracks do start to get a bit similar between the middle and end of the list, but good none the less. and finaly, the game is made more accessable to the harder difficulties for 2 reasons, 1. hammer ons and pull offs work now thank god, so that you can actually perform solos well, and 2. practice mode. this little mode lets you choose your track, difficulty, section and speed so that you can learn the patters and gain experience at your own pace. Guitar hero 2 is an improvement upon the origonal in so many ways and i hope this continues into further releases of the franchise, enjoy.
