Simply put, the best music game out there, other than Guitar Hero 1.
The gameplay here is perfect. DDR, learn your lesson here. The basic idea of hitting two buttons at once is far better than DDR's simple step-step-step garbage. Series veterans, be ready to play the most difficult videogame of all time. (DEAR GOD, JORDAN IS REDICULOUS!)
Sound, well, is perfect again. Nothing to complain about, other than that Stereo sucks in a music game, SURROUND SOUND PLEASE!!!
The graphics are not perfect, but they are really close. Nobody can say that the game is ugly, but it can be said that it looks like crap on a big screen TV in low definition. Then again, that is a limitation from the PS2, not the game itself.
Multiplayer in this game is nearly perfect. The one problem is the lack of a mode like pro face-off wtihout having to share difficulty. From time to time, I want to play against someone but still play the whole song.
The biggest problem the game has is the soundtrack. (LET YOUR HATRED FLOW THROUGH YOU!!!L0L) But really, it isn't that bad anyway. The "Furious Fretwork" "Face Melter" and "Amp Warmers" are all extremely good songs. On the other hand, whoever oked the majority of the "Opening Licks" (Minus WOMAN, that song is frickin awesome,) needs to be shot. In addition, "Tattoed Love Boys", "Girlfriend," "Can't You Hear Me Knockin," and "Ziggy Stardust"... wait, that was in the first Guitar Hero, nevermind, but the first three should not be in this game. "Tattoed Love Boys" and "Girlfriend" are just boring, while "Can't You Hear Me Knockin" has quite possibly the most annoying main riff I have ever heard.
All in all, Guitar Hero II is a good evolution of the Franchise. Now if only they'd equal the first soundtrack, or just update the first Guitar Hero and sell it for 10 bucks, they would be rolling in cash.
