Gamespot review of Guitar Hero 3 is below what is should be
User Rating: 8.5 | Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock PS2
First of I am a hard core Guitar hero fan. I am not a master but i can play all put one or two songs on each game on expert without using star power to keep the crowd happy. The third installment is the best by far. Tweaks to the timing and to hammer-ons and pull-offs make the game easier to play. I used to have trouble with the fast parts of GH2 but the GH3 is more lenient for Hammer-ons and Pull-Offs. You still have to hit the notes in order but it doesnt have to be perfect timing. The timing on normal rhythms that repeat over and over seem to demand perfect percision as in the first GH, however this tweak makes every other song easier to know when to strum for notes and chords that are on different rhythms or beats. Battle mode is only fun with someone your skill level to play with. However, i wanted to write this review because Gamespots review was too harsh. GH3 adds so much more extras in the game and has gameplay thats even better than was was increased with GH2. Just because online play isnt supported doesnt mean you should drop the score down by a full point! This is the PS2 version i am talking about! To all of us who still love our PS2 (and dont have time or money for new systems quite yet...ROCK ON
Oh and the new guitar controller bundeled with GH3 is so much better dear LORD!
