Metallica and Guitar Hero: a winning combination

User Rating: 8.5 | Guitar Hero: Metallica X360
This is the Guitar Hero that should have been. It's Metallica and what rock lover doesn't like Metallica? This is infinity times better than Guitar Hero Aerosmith and that's saying something. A great setlist with songs by Metallica, of course, and other bands like Judas Priest, Motorhead, Alice in Chains, Queen, System of a Down, etc. I'm not big on drums but for any drum lover, an "Expert+" was added for double bass hits which actually would help if you have 2 pedals. I heard that the Guitar Hero drumkit actually supports a Y splitter to connect 2 pedals so that's pretty cool but I personally would never be able to play drums in Expert+. Now, the band is who is currently in Metallica. Of course James Hetfield is on vocals, (and rhythm guitar), Kirk Hammett on guitar (lead), Lars Ulrich on drums and Robert Trujillo on bass. I know Metallica had bassists after Cliff's death who aren't in this game. I know Jason Newsted was Metallica's bassist for a while but he's in another band. No one can mocap Cliff so Cliff isn't in this game. What I don't get is if Hendrix can be in World Tour even though he's been dead for years, how come Cliff Burton couldn't be resurrected? I don't know and personally, it wouldn't matter because his song Orion is in this game and his bass guitars too. Another issue is why does it say RIDE THE LIGHTNING 2009 in the trailer but Ride The Lightning isn't in the setlist at all? If Aerosmith can have Walk This Way 2008 in its trailer and have the song (both if you count RUN DMC feat. Aerosmith). Although the Metallica songs were great, I think that there were better songs by Metallica that should have been in the game as well. For starters, Ride The Lightning, ...And Justice For All, maybe Blackened (those 3 songs were part of a Metallica pack downloadable in Rock Band). I also liked the intro because some of Metallica's album covers appear. Kill Em All, Master of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, ...And Justice For All, all the way to Death Magnetic which is Metallica's latest album. Speaking of that, it's the only DLC you can play in this game. I enjoyed this game as I enjoyed any Guitar Hero but Aerosmith.
