I have never been all that impressed with previous games that try to incorporate something extra your required to buy to play the game. The Donkey Kong game with the drum, shooters and mech games that require special controllers or guns, but Guitar Hero gets it perfectly. Guitar Hero incorporates a guitar controller that allows you to play tons of your favorite rock classics as if you were the lead guitarist. Guitar features a nice soundtrack, with varying artists, from your softer Queen to your Metal classics like Ozzie. Guitar Hero features a pretty decent sized soundtrack that incorporates into the game in the form of different levels as you move through career mode with your band. You get to choose your character, your guitar, the finish on your guitar, it's actually pretty cool. The game uses a cash system that rewards you for how well you play your songs during career mode that you use to buy new characters, guitars, videos, extra songs etc. Speaking of extra songs, Guitar Hero features a nice list of extra tracks. I reccomend that everyone checks out Drist, their song Decontrol is featured on Guitar Hero, and they feature another song on Guitar Hero 2. Drist is a great band who is yet to be unsigned, though you can buy their cd from their website. Guitar Hero has a great curve of difficulty. When you first turn on the game you'll find easy to be pretty hard, but after you get used to the game you'll be able to handle normal, and the transitions from easy to normal, normal to hard, and hard to expert are all able to be done without tearing your hair out. Despite the fact that the majority of the songs in Guitar Hero are covers, they are done almost as well as if the original artists had played them. Guitar Hero is a great game reccomendable to anyone, unless you happen to despise music, or only listen to rap.
