Wow this game is really the best port ive seen so far.

I mean i never found interest in a game like this....having played Syphon Filter Dark Mirror(great game by the way) and Star Wars Battlefront(didnt enjoy because it didnt control as well as i thought it would), it was very discouraging to purchase this game. But to my amazement, and also utter surprise this game is actually a really good port from its console counter parts.

For one this game's gameplay is absoulutey engaging, it allows you to really emerse yourself with the somewhat free roam ive seen so far, though I am just past the first few missions which i consider really a run around teaching you how to play. Ive only just begun to see what the game offers and im already excited to progress further. Now lets switch to the actually mechanics of the shooting and playing with the character. Well the game as we know shooters arent very well done on the PSP, but games like syphon filter: dark mirror and this game are those exceptions. The controls are customizable but as always with almost every game i play, i leave it at default, so i will be explaing it based ont he default settings. Movement is controled by the analog stick, and looking around by the 4 primary buttons, this is really not bad when you just take like 10 mins to get used to it and you will be fine, as for the shooting well thier is a bit of a small auto aim. For instance u just pull out ur gun and the retical u point it at an enemy it turns red, while ur moving around you will see the reticale trys its best to stay on the enemy while u strafe around, this works really great because its just the right balance between making the games shooting machanics fun while still not making it seem way too hard, and at the same time presenting a challange. As some of you might know the famou quick draw is also thier, this is like a slow mo so u can kill more enemies in less time, for this u just press up the up arrow on the d pad and you enter complete first person mode and everything in slow mo, as time doesnt allow u to stay like this forever it is made a bit easier when u flick the analog stick to the firection of an enemy the reticle just goes on the enemy and then you are able to shoot the enemy easily, but to not make it too easy when the enemy is running around this gets a tiny bit harder but not to hard(lets not forget this is slow mo after all). Another thing about the controls, the horseback riding is also great, you can gain a burst of speed by pressing the L trigger and then continuing fast running, you can also easily shoot as u would on land, and also use the analog stick for making the horse walk, though it might get a little bit trickiy killing a ton of enemies while running around but not completly tough where it gets you upset or anything like that. Also i just forgot to add about normal movement when your walking and all that instead of using ur 4 primary buttons to turn or behind, u can just press down on analog sticka dn L trigger and he will do a 180 turn in back of himself just as you might have seen in resident evil 4, also he can roll by walking sideways and pressing L trigger which aids in evasive measures and all that, I thought this was really a good to see it in this version of the game still preserved.

Lets move on to sound. Well thiers nothing much to say other than the voice acting is nothing other than top notch. I mean the characters really create that old western feel you would expect from a game like this. The environmental sounds of animals and aproaching enmeis isnt perfect but done really well. Gun shots are a bit on the hollywood side where guns make those really cool old western movie's sounds of pistols fireing and rifles battering, all in all sound is almost close to perfect for a game like this on the PSP.

Graphics...well you all maybe wondering what this game would look like, some of you might think hey its just a stupid port with uglier graphics from its console counter parts, well guess what, the PSP version is actually really close to the console's I mean the cutscenes are almost identical to the console's graphics, the gameplay graphics ar slo really really great, I mean its actually more detailed for me than Syphon Filters' graphics in my view, the games environmental details are also really exceptional. I just dont know how to put this but it is one of the best looking games.

Tilt: Well this game lets not forget has multiplayer, and what you say? the consoles never had this? Well i guess they havent, but to everyones surprise the PSP version does. Ive only unlocked 3 modes (deathmatch, golden cross, poker) I know thiers a couple of more but since ive only played the game for about 30 mins I havent gotten a chance to see it all though I have hosted a game of death match and wanted to see how it is on my own, all i can say it definatley isnt a let down, if you find anyone with this game you will be having tons of fun with the multiplayer and its levels( I think you unlock levels as you progress because ive seen single palyer settings in the multiplayer level list ). Another thing is that there are 5 new missions that were cut out from the earilier versions of the game that are now exclusive for the PSP, that means more gameplay and value for the game and its story. Also I am not sure but thier a couple of games within thegame u can play like poker(i know this because this one ive unlocked) i belive you can see something on this if you visit the prieview by GS.

Value: For a PSP $40 on this game well spent with no regrets. I know this game will last me for all the depth and immersions, and features it offers, with all the new content and still repserving of what a port should be this game is a must buy if your on a look out for a new game for your PSP.
