An exelent open-world western game.

Since Gun was announced i was really exited. an open-world game like GTA but played in the old western? WOW. and now i have it in my hands. It's NOT the great game i thought it would be, but it IS an exelent open-world western. The sotyline is terrific, with many surprising moments. There are many horse fights and they are pretty fun. In the game you'll have quite a big arsenal of weapons, includins many pistols, shotguns, bows and many other. i loved the "quickdraw" thing, where you take out your weapon and a first person view starts, and everything gets slower, it looks pretty much like bullet time.

The graphics are really good, the character models are great with very good textures, as well as the horses and weapons. Some of the buildings look a little ugly. The frame rate is instable, just at moments where there are too many oponents on screen that the frame rate fells.

The sound is amazing, the background western music fits perfectly, and the many sound effects, such as the shooting and the horse galloping are exelent. The dialogues are of great hollywood quality.

The gameplay is pretty good too. The third person shooting is nice, but you'll certainly have some problems with the aimming system, but after a while it'll be ok. shooting while on the horse is just the same thing. The camera might also bother you at some times. The rest is just perfect. Controlling Colton White on horse back or on foot works perfectly. the quickdraw is amazing, just some problems with the aim, as i said before.

Besides the story, you have a huge open-world to explore, where you can hunt for animals, get many different jobs, do some sidequests, search for wanted hunties, search for gold......and that's pretty much it. That's one of the game's problems.....you have a huge open-world...but it feels empty...doing those thins is fun, really fun, and it'll probably add a lot more time to the small story part(that will take you 10-15 hours)...but at sometime...it will start getting boring doing the same thing over and over again. It will take about 15-20 hours for you to get bored, counting the story part. but that's a lot for an action game...but not for an open-world one... but that normally happens with a developers first try of an open-world game.....it's huge but empty.....maybe GUN 2 solves those problems?
