Like Maple Story, this game is geared towards people who want to put a lot of money into the game and gets boring fast.
The Bad: The game may be free, but it's a complete waste of time unless with real cash you buy dragons and armor to win, lack of maps and styles leaves the game a bit flat.
I was introduced to Gunbound by a friend who had been playing the game for a while. He showed me it and I was interested in the game instantly. With colorful graphics and a exciting match, I knew I wanted this game. I went onto the website and downloaded the game, ready to play some amazing matches on my varying mounts.
After I downloaded the game, I selected a male character and entered a match.
When the game loaded, I entered a mechanical valley with 3 other players, all of them on mounts I couldn't get and with huge armor.
I was a little boy on a robotic pogo stick.
Needless to say, I died within 20 seconds of the game. I sat watching, wondering how the other players did it as they duked it out onscreen. Then I realized: they must have gotten it in the shop! I had gained some meager points that round, so I went to buy some armor.
The lowest, wimpiest armor there was was for 500 points. I had 15. The armor they had was exclusive and they bought it with real cash. Turns out it gave them a huge advantage over those who didn't want to pay anything and just have a fun time.
After a few other matches, I quit the game because the entire game is completely geared towards those who pay 50 dollars to mutilate everyone else. It may be fun for the person who pays this amount to get a dragon, but what about the people who don't want to play? They end up losing every single game and dying, getting 10 points per round. You have to play 50 games to even get the simplest armor if you don't want to play. There were only 3 maps and the mounts were horrible compared to the dragons and sparkling horses I had to face.
The game quickly got boring and my friend quit soon after he showed it to me. My advice: don't play a game like this where the game is completely handed to those who pay money to destroy everybody else, even those who have been playing for 3 years.
If you want to play a fun, free game with other players, play something like Rakion or Runescape or the many flash games that are on the internet.
But don't play Gunbound, where success is measured in how much money you have, not your true skill.
