Great Strategy. Cheaters. **** Mediocre Customer Service. Complete detailed review.

This game is probably most related to "Worms"
The object is basicially to lob missiles at certain enemies in an attempt to deplete their HP. The missles destroy land which is where the strategy comes in, complete with other factors including weather, wind, and special items. Not to mention 17 different "mobiles" to choose from, each of which has their own strategies, strong points, and weak points.

The game has a system called "delay" which is essentially a cost for shooting a certain shot. Each mobile has three options: shot 1, shot 2, and SS. Each shot has a certain delay -- less delay for less maximum damage. Usually shot 1 does least and then shot 2 and finally SS (the SS can only be shot once every five turns.) Also, certain items can be used. They have certain strategic effects, such as larger holes or more damage. The more useful the item is the more delay it adds. If your opponent uses less delay than you, he gets to shoot twice in a row, or until he overcomes the delay deficiency.

People can choose certain avatars which bolster certain areas, such as: health, damage dealt, increased defense, lower delay, etc. There are several servers which promote the use of these avatars stats when playing against other people . Several other servers make the stats have no effect, and making the avatar setup entirely for looks. As of late the more powerful avatars can only be purchased with "cash" which is gotten from the game's website. To purchase avatars with "gold", you collect gold from winning games -- usually around 500 a game. Avatar's cost anywhere from 6,000 gold to 300,000 so it depends on how long you want to save up.

Unfortunately one of the current problems are Aimbotters, or people that use certain programs to shoot for them and hit every shot. Action is recently been taking against them, even as much as reducing GP by 20,000, which is more than most players have, considering you only win between 4-15+GP a game. More GP for the longer tame typically.

Gunbound is an international game, so you play with people from other countries. The most popular countries are Peru, USA, Singapore, Malay, and Canada. There is a harsh reaction from the more advanced users when they play with beginners. Most of the time they get called "retards", "noobs", and anything else to lower one's moral. There is a good community, one of the better ones I've met participate on GBGL. (www.gbgl-hq.com) there you can meet many nice players and find lots of strategies and other things.

The customer service is mediocre at best. Softnyx has a limited english vocabulary. Many complaints get sent in about Botters (people who use programs to aim for you and hit every shot.) and other cheaters, as of late some have been punished.

Good sound effects, but in-game music is very elevator-ish.
Graphics are cartoony, but suit the game very well.

If you want to learn a more mathematical approatch to shooting, check out my friends CreeDo's website: CreeDo.GBGL-HQ.com
Beware, there is a large learning curve for using "formulas" and if you master it, expect to be kicked after games for "aimbotting" even though you aren't.

Good Luck.
