One of those "You either love it or hate it" games. "You should read this review" is what I'm trying

Let's start off with the story.

There is none. :)

Back to being serious, there are 4 crystals that you have to collect, and 4 levels (1 for each crystal, der). Afterwards one of your little co-heroes get's captured, you go through a level to save her, your crystals get stolen, you go through a couple more levels to get them back, and then you're done.

Sounds awfully short, right? Well, it's really not a game you'd spend your entire weekend on. You'll probably end up not spending that much time on this game at all. But, as some people like to say, "quality over quantity".

The quality of this game is great, so I should obviously go over it with you.

Gameplay: There are 4 different types of weapons. One that works as a homing missile, one that's like a rapid fire shotgun, one that's like a machine gun, and one that's like a handgun that shoots through stuff. You can combine 2 weapons to make a new weapon, like a rapid fire shotgun!

Tons of enemies will come at you, and basically you just hold down the fire button as you run and dodge their attacks, which is a lot more fun than it sounds.

The bossfights are hard but AWESOME. You're shown their health, you blast away at them, and dodge their brutal attacks.

You'll find that you'll only play this game an hour at a time, and you'll most likely want to go through each difficulty, starting with easy. It'll take you about 1 1/2-3 hours to complete the story on a difficulty, so you'll probably end up spending maybe 8-12 hours on this game. Add up a lot more time if you plan on playing with your friend.

Graphics: What you'd expect from a Genesis game.

Sound: We all love the arcade sounds, and this game has 'em.

Really old games are hard to explain, but I hope this made you want to buy the game. Anybody who loves shoot-em-ups should DEFINITELY buy this game, but I don't recommend this to platform-fans.
