The expansions that give a wider perspective to the Half-Life Story

User Rating: 9.3 | Half-Life 1: Anthology PC
Though Blue Shift was much shorter than Opposing Force, both added a great variety to the Half-Life Series. In Opposing Force, the objective was to seek out Gordon Freeman, who was initially the protagonist in Half-Life 1. In Blue Shift, the perspective was that of Gordon's ally, Barney. In this case, Barney's purpose was to assist a doctor with opening a portal to escape the crumbling Black Mesa.

The gameplay was incredible, simply because there was so much adding on to Half-Life. The graphics throughout the game were not that great, only because....well it was released before the Source engine. The sound effects were definitely okay, but nothing seemed to stand out. In terms of value, I think Half-Life Anthology is definitely worth the price. Overall, this is a great series, and if you havent played Half-Life 1 yet, I would highly recommend this game.
