Having played Portal and Bioshock just before sparking up this game, it ended up feeling somewhat dated. Had I played this first I probably would have given it a 9.0 as it is a great chapter in the saga with some satisfying gameplay. As for the new creatures, loved the Hunters, hated the glowing spitter things. I guess the thing I missed most that the other two games had in spades was a strong narrative. It kind of felt like I was often just being funneled through various gauntlets with a few big revelation scened scattered throughout. That used to be plenty, but after playing some more modern games it seems a bit dated. These days, if you are going to force me through "the tube" then I need to have a strong narrative, and if I'm not going to have a strong narrative, then I need the gameplay to be less linear, more open ended, and with more options and different ways to move through the area (like Far Cry).
