Half-Life 2 on the Xbox can only be described with one word. Revolutionary. Even without it's amazing storyline, ingenuitive puzzles, and stellar shooting gameplay, Half-Life 2 would be an instant classic. The game's physics really set it apart from the rest of the gaming genre. It gives you the option to pick up anything, and I mean EVERYTHING in the enviornment to use to your advantage. For instance, if there is an enemy manning a turret you need to get to without getting hit you can simply pick up a barrel to use as cover so you don't get hit. In addition, when you acquire the Gravity Gun, you can pick up items and use them as projectiles against your enemies. These items range from buzzsaw blades to cars and can all be flung at any enemy throughout the area. The A.I. is also very realistic and constantly sets traps to make your life a little more difficult. They also force you to use your enviornment to kill them and do not allow blind rushes while holding the R trigger to kill them. Attempting to kill a group of enemies without cover is definate suicide. The game also throws many puzzles in your path. You must use your enviornment to complete these puzles by building ramps, opening doors, as well as a variety of other things. In conclusion, Half-Life 2 is a game every Xbox owner should own. Despite the lack of a multiplayer mode, the game's single-player campaign alone greatly surpasses all that is offered by such games as Halo, Halo 2, Far Cry, Doom 3, and Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict. This is truly the greatest Xbox game ever made and shall be remembered as a classic for years to come.
