Good port of HL2, lacking features and stability

User Rating: 7.8 | Half-Life 2 XBOX
Gameplay:
Essentially the same of HL2 pc version. There are challenging puzzles, now involving physics. There is a nice variety of weapons from the classical crowbar to the new gravity gun. Along with that are the new physics realated elements such as tossing flammable barrels at enemies which make combat very fresh and exciting.

Graphics:
Great, when not choppy. Overall the game looks fine compared with a medium end PC. The textures, the animations and atmosphere are all intact. However, when the action heats up, especially when physics is involved, the framerate can drop extrememly low. For the most part, the game barely maintains 30fps throughout and the chop is highly noticiable.

Sound:
The sound works well for the game. Excellent voice acting along with a strong soundtrack, although nothing is too memorable.

Value:
Unfortunantly, there is no multiplayer components for Hl2 on the Xbox. The single player is quite lengthy with multiple sections that deserve replaying, but lack of any kind of multiplayer is very dissappointing Tilt:
After a long wait for HL2, and another wait for the xbox version, the game comes as a bit of a dissappointment. No multiplayer and unstable framerate hurt the game's value and presentation. However, the single player is still top notch, with many interesting twists to the fps genre
