half-life 2 for the xbox cannot be compared to games like halo 2, far cry instincts, and doom 3 for its overall package. it does not have multiplayer but thats not the reason i bought it. i bought it to enjoy the splendid single player mode. and how splendid it is!! the score gamespot gave it was in comparision to the pc version, but if this was just a game that just came out for the xbox it would have ranked right up there in 9's like the chronicles of riddick which offered no multiplayer. half life 2 is a completely immersive game that starts you off with a matrix feel where your being chased by a race called the combine that have taken over earth since the first half-life. the gameplay is great, the graphics are great, the sound from the guns shootin to underwater shootin is amazin as well as its nice soundtrack that keeps up with the pace of the game. the weapons are good but most of them are recycled from the first game, with the exception of the gravity gun, and 2 other weapons. the physics engine is amazing in this game, like nothing that you have seen before. the game also offers vehicles that control from the fps view but works a hell lot better than farcry. overall there is no other game like this and is must play, even if it was just a rental. i'm not here to sell the game, just to play it.
