6 years has passed and I still keep coming back to Half-Life 2. It is the pinnacle of interactive entertainment

User Rating: 10 | Half-Life 2 PC
Half-Life 2 is to this day the most impressive PC game made. The visuals may have taken a step down due to aging, but artistic value is worth more than polycount. Storytelling in this game, exploration, environments and its atmosphere still impresses. These are big words, but putting all the pieces of this game together, including puzzles that are still fun to complete HL2 is at the top of its franchise.
Mid-2010 Crysis has the visuals, WOW has the players, [insert RPG here] has the story, but none of these can compete on all levels like Gordon Freeman. And on top of that the game is dirt cheap on steam or as Orange Box bundle, hell, take it second hand, just know that no one should have lived and not played this game. The only drawback of HL2 is that the ending has left players with big questions, and we are still waiting for the final installment, promising to answer those questions. So, "Is it really that time again?"
