They're trying, Bungie is. Just not hitting the mark the way they did before.

User Rating: 7.7 | Halo 2 XBOX
Before I begin this review, I will say straight out that I was a HUGE Halo fan. I used to have XBOX parties with my buds with 16 people playing at the same time. I played the single player campaign so many times that my girlfriend eventually made me stop because she was sick of hearing the sounds of Halo gunfire. When Halo 2 came out, I was suprised to see that the gameplay had changed slightly. Not quite the same "Halo" feel to it. Although it was fun, sometimes it just didn't fit right. I wanted Halo gameplay with additions, not a new build. And as far as the multiplayer is concerned, it is good, but definately not the best. Latency from distance across the globe hampers any REAL accuracy, and there is SO MUCH cheating that occurs, it makes the new "match-making" system only match equally 1/3 of the time. Though I still play online, I won't play without having other people that I know online with me... which defeats the purpose of matchmaking. It's a good game, but I hold on to the hope that Halo 3 will do better, and that if I want multiplayer thrills, I'll be better off looking to Unreal Tournament 2004, or Counter-Strike Source.
