Halo 2 is the story that Halo lead up to. Even though the campaign was quite a bit shorter than the first one, the multiplayer made up for that. Halo 2 is one of the most popular online fps' to date, with over 200,000 games played per day. It has something that appeals to everyone, the mechanics are just right, and the weapons are quite well tuned. The matchmaking is quite fun, and fair. Even though there are a few hackers and glitchers here and there, but nothing that will make you not play the game any more. The maps are amazing, and the vehicles are great. The customization in the game doesn't have too much variety. The games graphics are amazing, and the color effects are amazing for it's time. If there is for some reason you don't like FPS', you MUST buy this game, or atleast rent the game to see if you like it.
