Halo 2 is probably one of the biggest Xbox sequel release yet.
The main new thing about Halo 2 is guns and more guns. You will quickly find a whole new variety of weapons. Halo 2 also offers the ability to hold 2 weapons at the same time, the only draw back from this is that you wont be able to throw a grenade at the same time. You will have to drop a gun to throw a grenade. You can also take guns from your teammate and fellow soldiers. You can equip them with different guns that you think would be more suitable to use for the battle. There are also more vehicles that do show damage and handle wonderfully in your controls. Each vehicle has its different aspects and abilities. There have been some upgrades to the classic vehicles from the first Halo, for example the new cannon on the Warthog, or the ability for the ghost to have sort of turbo boost. There is also the impressive ability to board a ghost that is coming straight at you and then taking over the controls of it.
Guns aren’t the only thing that Halo 2 improves on. The levels are a lot bigger and more explorable than the first. They graphics are beautiful and very detailed. The levels are also a lot more creative in that they have less repetitious aspects. For example: in the first Halo you would run into a room and then run into another room that looks exactly the same as the room before. Halo 2 breaks from this and trys to add a more unique gameing environment. This is a huge plus for Halo2 and by far one of its greatest features.
The game progressively gets more challenging, but still remains playable and beatable. The ability to play it on several different difficulty setting is always a nice feature. It may take you some time to beat it all on every difficulty setting available.
The Sound is very good in this game. Each gun makes its own unique noise and each alien and soilder will make their own differnt sound. The soundtrack is exceptionally well done and flows with the game perfectly.
What probably really keeps this game popular and selling strong to this day is its Mulitiplayer. There are several different Multiplayer games available including a deathmatch. In my opinion the best part of the Multiplayer is the ability to fight together co-op with you friend through the levels in the game. It makes the game a lot more fun when you have a partner to beat the game with. The Multiplayer is what will really keeps you coming back to this one to play for a long time. The multiplayer has also been improved a lot from the first Halo.
Although the original Halo has a better story and helps establish the whole Halo universe better. Halo 2 may have some disappointing factors espically its weak ending but in all Halo 2 is still a great game that is definitely worth buying and keeping for your collection.
