Halo 2 has come to be known as one of the best games ever created. After Bungie released Halo: CE in 2001, the developers understood that they had hit the jackpot. They took the same basic gameplay from the hit game and relayed it to the next generation. What I mean by "next generation" is that they began to form the game around an online playlist. Xbox Live's debut became the turning point for the game. If there was no Xbox Live for Halo 2 it would have been another bad sequel with a shorter campaign with shinier players. But, if you have ever picked up an xbox controller, chances are that you have played the game because it was the basis for online multiplayer competition. Being able to play people online all over the world in such a competitive game environment makes every fight even more valuable to a player. Also, when you line up that perfect headshot against a level 40 with a name your parents would smack you if you said it, you can feel his agony and desperation. It makes the gameplay very social and is why I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
