Bungie does it again. Just when i thought that the first halo couldnt get any better, they come up with this. Halo 2 is unmatched to date, but any console shooter out there. Just try to prove me wrong. The gameplay in halo 2 is much like the gameplay in the first, however this time you can duel weild, play as the covenant, and the levels are more than just running from one side of the map to the other killing everything that moves. They have much more depth this time around. One thing i should comment on are the smooth, well placed controls (which is a huge + for any console shooter) can be found here. This makes tasks such as sniping, and maneuvering vehicles a breeze. Graphically the game is about as good as it gets for the xbox. Both the environment and character detail are top notch. The story, i felt was... a little lacking. I know this is a sequel, but it doesnt really feel like a complete chapter in my opinion. However, all that aside, perhaps the best feature in the game is the multi player. I have yet to see a console game with multiplayer as good as halo's. The weapon combos are a big part of what make halos multi player both exciting and challenging. The weapons are well balanced, and there seems to be a counter weapon/combo for every situation you run into. Covenant weapons seem to be better and taking down sheild than human weapons, however human weapons apear to be better at taking down a shield-less enemy. This adds strategy when it comes to choosing what weapons to use, however, because the weapons are so well balanced, the skill of the player using them, is really what matters. Overall, halo2 is the best console shooter out there. Unlike some of the newer "next generation" games that only offer graphical content, but poor game play value, halo2 seems to snatch both game play and graphics, a combo that shouldnt be allowed :)
