When Halo: Combat Evolved was released by (then) the relatively unknown games developer Bungie Studios skyrocketed. Halo: Combat Evolved was a huge leap for first person shooters and raised the bar for games in general. When Halo 2 came out, the bar was raised once again.

Halo 2 is a game thatonce you get into, you will never want too stop. The storyline was brilliant, with a knife edge (if annoying) cliff hangar. I must admit I never saw it coming. The A.I. was absolutely fantastic (except for the Brutes, of course). The multiplayer on one X-Box is absolutely great. It allowed having small bands of friends to be entertained easily with no fuss apart from who wants the rocket launcher (taken by force, of course).The X-Box Live with Halo 2 is brilliant as well. Playing against fifteen other players online is a thrilling thing to do let me tell you that. It also showed very little lagon the actual game.

Some people may disagree with me. Some say it is over-rated. Its not, it show a bigger jump in the right direction over its rivals more than any other game has ever done. Want proof? It's still being played today.
