A game that surprised me in more ways than one.

I am going to keep this simple and I will stay away from plot details. I have played all of the Halos and I really actually debated about getting Halo 3ODST. Well let me just say I was very glad I did . The graphics are good, they aren't amazing but there are more things to a game than just graphics. The classic Zoom Pistol is back and that is a BIG plus in my book. I really enjoyed that gun from the first Halo. The weapons have a little different feel but in a good way. The part that most impressed me about ODST was that I actually really enjoyed the story. The music was excellent and really set the mood for the entire game. The cutscenes were also the perfect length and told an interesting story. The campaign could have been a little longer but for a game that started out as an expansion it turned out to be a good 6-7 hours for me on heroic difficulty. The amount of mixture that the guys at Bungie put into the game with vehicle parts city parts along with more natural environments really added some good variety to the game. Bottom line on the campaign is that it is one of the few campaigns of Halo that I am looking forward to playing again and beating on legendary.
The Firefight mode in my opinion is a better version of Horde from Gears of War 2 where you fight wave after wave of enemies but also can activate skulls that make things quite interesting at times. The rounds are well spaced and the dialogue spoken by the enemies and the ODSTs is quite funny. The only complaint about firefight is that you cant search for a match on live you have to play from only your friends list. The best part is that a second disc is included with all of the Halo 3 Multiplayer maps plus a few new ones just for ODST.
Bottom line if you were questioning getting ODST I would surely recommend you do. Great game with plenty to offer and hours of fun that just never gets old.
