I was really excited to get this game but was let down once I actually got my hands on it.

I have been visiting the Gamespot: Halo:ODST site ever since I found out about this game to see videos and images. I was really excited to get it. New campaign, new mode of play: firefight, and new multiplayer maps. Although the campaign is different from previous Halo games, it is a compelling story and requires different tactics than what would have been done with the master chief. For instance, you no longer have a regenerating shield but instead require health packs when damaged. You cannot jump or run as fast as the master chief either. This dynamic forces you to choose your battles and decide what you do before you rush in and do it. The new multiplayer mode firefight is fun but it is lacking the matchmaking system that is in the previous Halo games. This was a big letdown because you have to find people via forums and websites just to play a game. Personally, I don't have a lot of friends that have this game so it is hard for me to find people to play with. The multiplayer on disc 2 of the game is the same as Halo 3, but comes with three new maps to play on. If you already have Halo 3 and have downloaded all the map packs, I suggest that you save your money and just rent this game instead of spending $59.99 on it like I did.
