A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy
Once again in Halo 3, you have a wide array of weapons at your disposal both Human and Covenant. The assault rifle and the pistol (minus the scope) from the first game make a grand return much to my joy and excitement. There's also the inclusions of new weapons as well, such as the Spartan Laser (a laser cannon), the brute spiker (an SMG of sorts) and the gravity hammer (originally seen in Halo 2, was used by the chief of the brutes). The grenades also make a return with the addition of the spike grenade, which is a grenade that is pretty useless unless it sticks to one target, killing it instantly. You'll have the ability to dual wield weapons as well as alternate grenades throughout the game. You can also take mounted weapons and rip them from their posts and carrying them around while being switched from a first person to a third person view. You'll also have specialty items like shields, EMPS and flash grenades at your disposal. But unless you're playing on anything higher than easy or online, you'll never use them.
The diverse and different vehicles once again make a return in Halo 3 with a few new vehicles. You have the mongoose (a Quad), The hornet (a futuristic helicopter of sorts) and the brute chopper. The Covenant vehicles are alot easier to maneuver and control than human vehicles, once again making you wise you had a Ghost in the last five minutes of the game.
The controls essentially stay the same from the previous Halo titles, With a few minor changes to the controls, like the reload buttons. This will help make the learning curve extremely short, allowing veterans to newbies to learn the controls with ease. The friendly AI is also a a lot smarter than in the previous games, making your gaming experience more enjoyable.
The two major complaints I have about the game is the length and the customization. The campaign is very short and can be beaten in a few days with a lot of time. The achievements and collecting the skulls will probably offer some replay value, but not that much. Also in the game, you can customize a Spartan or an Elite to use online, like customize the armor colors. However, only one set of armor is available at the offset and new armor is offered sporadically as rewards for beating the levels in the campaign on certain difficulties, which really doesn't make getting new armor really worth it.
Overall, I had fun playing this game and it was a very enjoyable, albeit short experience.
