You won't be Disappointed. A worthy ending to the series.

I doubt Bungie had any clue at the monstrosity they were creating when they first put out Halo for the original X-Box. Eventual hype became associated with the series when Halo 2 was announced and provided the much awaited Online Multiplayer experience. The multiplayer and the online functionality lived up to the hype. Huge success later made the game become the flagship title in MLG. So when the new generations arrived everyone was waiting for the much awaited announcement of Halo 3. Players had to wait a year into the 360's life before they would hear that familiar Halo theme at E3 '06. Excitement and buzz as well as the hype began there. With careful advertising and campaigning by those at Microsoft and Bungie. They put together the biggest grossing entertainment product in a 24 hour span. So was it all worth it?!

Well let's deal with the schematics first.
There's a couple of firsts to the game...
People who thought this was going to look like Gears of War (the beautiful looking artistic game that released a year earlier) know that you'll be quickly disappointed. The game is using a new engine specifically used for Halo called the Halo engine. While not as pretty you could pretty much say it's an improvement from Halo 2.
Dual wielding... nah just kidding hahaha.
The gameplay is much the same as before with the exception of the button layout since the 360 controller is different than that of the original X-Box.
Now onto the game itself.

The story... Okay a lot of people were left disappointed and hurt with how Halo 2 ended. Quite frankly I was one of those people. But I quickly forgot about it after playing multiplayer online hahaha. But still, the game did a good job of putting things together and closing this chapter. I won't spoil anything but let's just say you will be satisfied with everything with how the story progresses through the game and how it ended. While this should be in the other part of my review. I will put this here... It supports 4 player co-op through X-Box Live. The first of it's kind in console gaming. It was such a huge success that Call of Duty: World at War which has been touted as a single player experience only now supports the 4 player co-op. And the anticipated Gears of War 2 sequel is expecting to add the 4 player co-op as well.

Gameplay... Nothing particular new besides the button layouts. For new players lets just say it's easy to pick it up and play. Just point and hit the trigger finger lol. Okay for reals are the new equipments. Such as the famed bubble shield that made it's appearance in that commercial on ESPN's Monday Night Football. Some new weapons such as the touted flame thrower hahaha and inferno grenade as well as some other goodies. But the coolest baby of them all. Is the Grav. Hammer. You'll see why when you get your hands on it.

Multiplayer... The core of the game. By now you know there has been updates and 6 new maps that go with the existing ones that originally came with the game. After some tinkering the people at Bungie did the game justice by giving well at least the majority of the gamers what they want in the multiplayer experience. But the biggest draw is the forge feature... a unique way to call create a map. Easy and you get to share it with the public. Another draw is the theatre feature. Which if you want to learn how you got kill'd either by the enemy or by friendly fire. Here's where you get that chance to see. It also comes with a nice photo feature that you can show your pals. A portrait of your battles lol. For those machinima enthusiasts who were inspired by Rooster Teeth's Red vs Blue series. This is also were you can create your machinima. While you need to work to do that, the tools are there for you to use.

Overall... a mighty experience. The single player did more than enough and closing the story and the graphics which were all in-game (including cut-scenes with the exception of a few) were nice to see. The easter eggs skulls are there and are fun to use (giving a nice fun game within the game with your friends at times with the built-in meta game). Online Multiplayer brought back the battles of Halo 2 and brought in some extra incentives as well. This game was indeed well worth the wait.
