Halo 3 Review
Graphics: The graphics are great, nothing that has not been done before or better but they are overall great graphics. The different armor that the Brutes use is definitely pleasant to the eye, and distinguishes the different classed of Brutes well. The Covenant in general look great too. The Master Chief look incredible, and the textures are good, but again they are not amazing amazing, but good. However just looking out at the environments and the sheer scale of it is quite a sight to behold.
Gameplay: Its Halo gameplay, not much has really changed here better or worse. New additions such as equipment, and brute weapons, and new grenade types definitely make things more exciting. The weapons are amazing, and are very balanced in comparison to the other games, and the equipment is very handy, and can create some cool moments. The AI is very good for the most part, and the Brutes are definitely tough and in many ways tougher than the Elites were in previous installments. The new vehicles are definitely cool, and a blast to use. No real complaints here its basically the same Halo game we have all come to know.
Campaign: The campaign is not very long. It took me around ten hours to beat. But it is highly addictive. In fact I beat it the same day I got it. The campaign is definitely good. It wraps things up well in a satisfying way. Its really just a continuation of the Halo storyarc so as a result you will be exploring new areas, fighting new enemies, and just kicking ass. The only complaint I have is the 8th level. If you play the game or have played the game you will understand what I am talking about.
Multiplayer: The multiplayer is still running strong, with new armor permutations, four player online co-op, its still the same multiplayer from the previous game, with new maps, weapons, equipment etc. So while its still the same multiplayer at its core, a lot has been added, and adjusted to make the game still stand out.
Forge: Forge is definitely a cool addition. It allows you to tweak maps, and add stuff, take away stuff, its just very cool, and fun to mess around with stuff. There really isnt much more to say about this.
Saved Films: Saved Films are a way of looking at you previous gameplay whether it is single player, or multiplayer. You can take screenshots, upload footage, move the camera around freely to look at the level. Its cool and allows you to go back and look at things you may have done wrong so you can do better next time, or create strategies, or just show off how much you owned that guy in rumble pit. Either way its cool.
So thats really it I havent really messed with the Meta Game too much (but its basically kill a guy get points, get a headshot get more points), but yeah that really wraps things up. This overall a truly outstanding game with tons of replay value. It offers a lot both old and new. Its a great way to close out an iconic series, and to really give the gamer a great overall experience. It is one of the most enjoyable games I have played in a long time, and there is enough to keep me busy for a lot longer. Overall I say buy this game you wont regret it.
