Halo 3 is an excellent ending for the blockbuster series. It's generally very variable, and enjoyable.
The single-player campaign could've been better, but it's still pretty good. It succesfully takes the story to the end, tho the ending is not SO satisfying. The campaign pack a lot of excitement and action. You get to go around different kinds of environments and fight against all sorts of enemies throughout the epic adventure. It's really fun to fight against the basic enemies: brutes and the grunts, but not as fun as it was to fight against elites and grunts. This time around Master Chief is not fighting alone so much. You'll have the Arbiter and a couple of UNSC marines with you most of the time. And the Marines are not so crappy anymore. They tend to survive pretty well, and on Legendary-difficulty, they have significantly more health than you. It's a welcome add, but you don't get the heroic feel of saving them or fighting alone against hordes of enemies. The Arbiter has propably about four times the amount of health that you have on the legendary setting. it's good, because he really does some damage when he gets up close to the enemies with his energy sword. Allys' AI seems to work decently, but it's not so great. For example, your Marine comrades just can't drive well. There are about 4 different types of brutes in the game. There are a few differences to take them out the best way. For example the biggest brute, chieftan, has an armor that bounces any granade, but the flame garande right off. Otherwise garandes play a big role when taking out any enemies.
the weapons in the game are nicely balanced and fun. Tho the best weapons are propapbly fuel-rodgun, both snipers, dual wielded plasma rifles and plasma rifle and mauler (semi-automatic one-handed shotgun) combined. The difference is till very slight and you may find none of these to be the best weapons to your style. There are four types of granades and a all new class of equipment. The equipment has some interesting stuff in it like the bubble shield and the energy drain. those are not so big deal in the single player campaing, but they really add something to the multiplayer. The two new granades are very nice too, but I'm not gonna talk about them now.
The graphics of the game are really great. The overall view is very good, and the textures are excellent. The high dynamic range also adds some reality into the visuals. But game is not even in HD.The resolution of Halo 3 which is 640p is not so big deal when compared to the 720p, but when compared to the 1080p it's you'll see it's flaw. But still a pretty minor one considering that the game runs at 60 fps.
The sound of the game are guaranteed halo-style. There's some new, (pretty crappy) music added and the famous themes are set in the l ater sections of the game. It's not so great, but not so bad either, because the musics are still extremely heroic and cool.
Halo 3's multiplayer is more enjoyable to some people than it is to others. It's has core gameplay of Halo and it's pretty fast paced. It also has a variety of gamemodes and maps, tho the maps are generally small. There is not much lag in the multiplayer. Partly because the game seems to have some sort of system that eliminates the lag by registering the hits automaticly when the shots are aimed and the crosshairs are turned red. That allows two players kill each other with something like smgs (or whatever) and meleeing is questionable is some situations. But don't get me wrong! The system is overall very great, and it should be used more often in gaming.
You can also play the game co-operatively and split screen with any combination up to 4 players in one campaign or split-screen. It's very fun and a good add. Tho it would be good to have a bigger tv for four-player co-op.
-The campaign also has this skull finding-thing which is really one of the greatest things in the game. -The Theater is good, but you can't roll forward or backward with any good speed. Sometimes you'll have to wait for an hour to get your greatest moments with the game saved. (Really frustrating)
