I got into this game expecting amazing things. And for the first couple of hours it delivered. It kicks off with just all out, intense, non-stop action. I can't count how many times in the first two hours i uttered how feakin awesome the game was. After the first couple chapters however, the game quickly died out. Environments got more repetitive, enemies and level difficulty got redundant, and the story flat-lined, trying to deliver F.E.A.R.-like moments, but just being annoying. Nothing about this game is bad by any means, but it completely fails to live up to any of the hype that's been crammed down my throat since Halo 2. When the end credits finally rolled I just couldn't believe it was over and that was it. I honestly wasn't that disappointed since, well, since Halo 2 ended. SO after the campaign ended I switched up to multi-player to try to gleam a few more hours out of my purchase, only to find that most of the maps are recycled from the last 2 games. The new maps that did exist were still just ideas taken from past games. Nothing new or exciting to me. All in all Halo 3 was a decent game, definitely worth renting, but I felt it was a waste of 60$. Thus my copy now sits in the used section at the local Gamestop in exchange for the Orange Box. A game that does live up to the hype.
