Bungie's last Halo....hopefully...
I have Xbox Live, and played Halo 2 alot, and loved it. So when the release date came for Halo 3 I was pumped. The day I got it, it was amazing. I loved it and I didn't want to put it down. As time went on, however, it was starting to get less and less enjoyable. There was too big of a jump in skill. I was pretty good at Halo 2, so when I started Halo 3 I was pretty good. So all the noobs that swithed from 2 to 3 were even worse. And that's why I had so much fun, because I would dominate noobs. As I got better, the people were getting better and the teamwork is better. On Halo 2, teamwork wasn't the biggest factor in a win. On Halo 3, I believe it is. I would go in alone into Team Slayer, and get pwned by people who weren't legit (i'll get to that in a minute) or the other team had great teamwork. So, when I wanted to play a ranked match I would have to wait for a friend that I knew would hold his own in a game.
Now to the ranking system. I don't know how to really put this....It sucks. On Halo 2, I was a legit 35, and it wasn't easy getting a 35. On 3, any noob could get a 35 easily. I'm a 42 in Team Slayer and I would have never in my wildest dreams gotten a 40 on 2. The problem is, when your low you move up very quickly, like on Halo 2, but if you keep winning even at a low level and you keep moving up, the new "Smart Ranking System" thinks that your good enough to keep moving up higher and higher in the ranks. Which may be true. But for some, they have a good game join up with really good people and move up like nothing. It was very aggrivating to get people who had 43 by there name, but were only a legit 23.
I had a friend come over and he has Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I played a few games, and it was amazing just like Halo was. I wasn't good at it but I was still having a fun time. I could never say that about Halo. It may not be able to do all the things Halo 3 can, but overall it whoops Halo.
I gave this game a 7.5 which is a little bit better than what it should be, but it is enjoyable at times.
Maybe this will be Bungie's last Halo related game. People may buy it because it's Halo, but satisfaction will not be garunteed.
