Halo 3, a game of the century or just an over hyped game?

So, you bought an Xbox on November 2001 and you didn't have a killer app game to start out your xbox game library. Microsoft was in question if they can last long through out the whole generation. That's when Microsoft shocked the world with Halo: Combat Evolved. The game proved to become a major success and help Microsoft and the Xbox to become a noticeable contender in the gaming industry with great Single player and Multiplayer experience. Halo:CE proved that Microsoft was here to stay when it spawned a sequal Halo 2 with adding online multiplayer but sacrificing the Single Player and Story of the game. Now we are here at the present and for the Xbox 360 we now have Halo 3, a game that is supposed to be the crown jewels of the Xbox brand. Did this game meet its expections with hype and all the paid advertisment Microsoft spend for a Moutain Dew Halo drink? That is something you have to figure out yourself.

Graphics- 8 Okay next gen is now and the best looking 360 title as of now is still Gears of War. I expected much more for this title due to the hype, but graphics isn't everything, right? RIGHT? But then again, Halo 1 wasn't the best looking game of its time anyway.

Gameplay- 9 Although you can't go wrong on how Halo changed the way we played FPS at the beginning. The controls remain the same since 2001 but with the additional action button. At least it makes it easier to play game and when you go online to get those headshots. Plus now you can play 4-player co-op on the story mode. Online remainds the same as Halo 2 but with more maps and toys for you to play with against your friends.

Story- 7.5 Finish the Fight, that's all you got to do, oh and save Cortana from the Flood. You may be disappointed with the ending though.

Sound- 9 When Halo came out, not only people were overwhelm with its great gameplay and co-op, the Voice Acting of Chief is well done and the music made the game very memoriable and the trend continues with this title.

Replay Value- 8.5 Well this sure is a tough one. If you're much of a single player person, you will be underwelm with its mediocre story and short campaign but then this game is more of a multiplayers game anyway so you better find some friends with a 360 and a copy of halo 3 in order to experience the campaign mode. If you prefer to go on a killing spree online then the Multiplayer part of the game is for you but don't expect much because the Multiplayer feels more like an updated Halo 2 multiplayer.
