Really good attempt by 343, and they got it close, but it's not quite the Halo of old. Which isn't necessarily bad, it just doesn't quite hit the Halo on the head. I didn't like fighting the Forerunners like I loved fighting the Covenant, and I didn't enjoy Cortana's little emotional breakdowns. I also found the story itself to be a little choppy, but still enjoyable. Graphically awesome, this game is so close to greatness, but falls a little bit short.
Now I co-op Halo games with my friend on Legendary, and that being said, sometimes I thought the game was just the right challenge to clear a wave of baddies, sometimes it was really hard. Sometimes it felt cheap, and sometimes it felt easy. I know it's tough to keep a consistent difficulty level in any game though, so it's a pass. 343 is off to a great start, and Halo seems like it's in good hands so far. This is a worthy Halo entry needing a little more refinement to make it truly a Master Chief Halo.
