A highly addictive first person shooter

I always thought Halo was over hyped back in the day, mainly because i was a Sony person who loved his PS2. When i got a 360 a few years back, my mind sort of changed and I wanted to play Halo. I never got around to it until now, when i bought it a few weeks ago, and let me tell you it was worth every penny. Halo is set in the year 2552, when the human race is in a violent war with the Covenant, an alien race that's hell bent on destroying humanity. You play as Master Chief, who along with a group of Marines, fights against the Covenant on a massive ring called Halo after their ship is attacked by the Covenant. Although the story isn't as grand and melodramatic as games such as Mass Effect, it still gets the job done.

The game is a first person shooter, with a wide array weapons ranging from a pistol with a scope (which is arguably one of the best weapons in the game) to a Covenant plasma rifle. You can pick up ammo and other enemies weapons along the way. you'll also be able to use a wide array of vehicles like the Warthog, The Banshee and the Ghost. The controls are easy to understand and get the hang of and the learning curve is not that long, and in a few minutes you'll already know what you're doing. This helps make the game extremely fun and entertaining.

However, there are two major downsides to this game that can kill the fun and entertainment at times. The first thing is the friendly AI, which is borderline moronic. A pile of bricks is more useful than your allies will be the entire game. The other downside is when you have to drive the Warthog. This makes driving the tank in Mass Effect look like an easy task. The Warthog does not steer well and you're always slipping and sliding across the terrain. This becomes extremely frustrating the last five minutes the game. It also doesn't help that whenever you have the Warthog available with your allies, They will never, for whatever reason, drive the Warthog, leaving you the unfortunate pleasure for driving the machine instead being the turret or on the side seat.

Regardless of those two downsides, Halo is still a fun and highly addictive game that anyone could enjoy.
