My god. This game is perhaps the best game on the face of the planet. Yes, I’m serious. No one who tells you that this game is horrible has any brains at all. Set in a futuristic sci-fi world where an evil alien race called the Covenant threatens to destroy human kind, this game puts you in the boots of Spartan 117, known by his rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, or the Master Chief. Whether fighting aboard a gargantuan human capital-class ship fleeing a destroyed planet, or on a ring world trying to form an effective resistance from crash survivors, this game is full of non-stop, gut wrenching, action-filled thrills. The graphics provide an in-depth visual masterpiece, be it snowy banks, colossal ships, giant ring worlds or shimmering translucent Artificial Intelligence holograms, this game looks exactly as it should. And if it's graphics are good, it's sound quality is better. Whether it's the 'thud thud thud' of a covenant plasma weapon, or the 'wort wort wort' battle cry of an alien elite warrior, this game's sound system delivers. The controls are relatively easy to learn, plus there is a simple tutorial at the beginning of the first level for fine tuning the game's elements. An immersive storyline complements game play, a unique feature among FPS's. Four difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Heroic, and Legendary) allow you to set your preferences. Halo's famous "Checkpoint" system is now standard among FPS's, and for good reason. All in all this is a perfect game. Absolutely perfect. Definitely worth adding to your collection. This game is possibly the greatest game of all time.
