The reason to buy an xbox.

User Rating: 9.8 | Halo (Xbox Collection) XBOX
When Microsoft decided that they were going to enter the console market they realized that they would need some pretty good games. They went to a variety of publishers hoping they could provide them with a killer app. One of the publishers that they noticed was Bungie. Although Bungie has never created anything to be considered groundbreaking they were a solid developer with titles under the belt such as Oni and the Marathon series, but the majority of the games that they had created had appeared on the console. Never the less Microsoft chose to buy Bungie and make them release this once PC only title onto the new xbox. I don't think Microsoft realized what they got when they purchased Bungie as the game they were working on would be the reason to buy an xbox.

Halo is a first person shooter set in a sci-fi story. You play as the master chief. A super soldier who is humanities last hope against an alien race called the covenant. The combine are bent on destroying the humans, and when the ship that the master chief is aboard finds a strange ring the covenant are close behind. The majority of the ten single player missions take place on this beautiful ring. As you'l be fighting in a perfect mix of indoor levels and outdoor ones. The game also features a variety of levels ranging from the easy difficulty for the casual player to Legendary for the most hardcore of players. One of the most amazing things about Halo was that it presented a control scheme that just felt right on the consoles. In previous tries first person shooters often failed when compared to a mouse and keyboard. The game uses one control stick as your movement (comparable to your WASD) and the other as your aimer (your mouse). This worked so extremely well that it is now nearly impossible to find any game that does not use this type of control scheme. Despite how good the single player is the thing that will blow you out of the water is the amazing multiplayer. It is not truly justified unless you have at least 8 players, although 4 player matches can still be fun, system linking up to 4 xboxs and having 16 people play in the same game is by far the best console expierence I have ever had. Not only did Bungie do such an amazing job with being able to hook up four xboxs but the fact is this is one of the best multiplayer games even when compared to modern classics like Counter Strike, Battlefield, or Unreal Tournament. One of the reasons for this is because of the perfectly balanced gameplay and amazing maps. It also offered a co-op play that allowed you and a friend to play through the single player campaign.

Halo was the reason the xbox was created and in my opinion is one of the best game of all time. It was the title that really got me hooked on games and to this day I still play it.
