Great game in one of the best Shooter trilogy's to date!

Works well on XBOX 360 too. Although a little choppier on the X360 than on the original XBOX, the game still manages to play with great framerates, even when the action heats up with numerous NPC's approaching in an open field.

This game is owned by the majority XBOX owners, meaning it's high rating is not misleading.

It's graphics for the time of its creation are superb, with nice clean character models, huge landscapes, pretty lighting effects, and great viewing distance, and very nice weapon models and ammunition during fire. The rocket's look especially nice during flight. Explosions on tanks, etc, are very convincing.

The only minor problem with the graphics is the slightly-poor looking, and unconvincing lip-synching, but no game of it's time had very convincing lip-synching animations anyway, so this is not a major problem. Looks especially bad in some cut scenes that use a close-up camera shot on the face, but was as good as any game of its time.

Sounds are great, especially when loud. Convincing weapon firing sounds and effect. In general the positional sounds make it easy to determine where things are happening around you. The music is fantastic!! Very atmospheric, and really moves the player. The epic music feels great to listen to, and can really dig deep into the player - it is very moving -> Makes you love the game. The music (especially the intro) never tires, and can be listened to for hours without becoming annoying.

The story of the game is equally enjoyable.

Multiplayer is great. Any party or "friends-over-for-dinner" can be (and often is) improved by playing Halo 4-player multiplayer. The large landscapes can make it hard to find other player's in some occasions, but can be equally helpful for new players to get a grasp on the game, and explore without detection, while experienced players will still have no trouble finding their prey. The large landscapes make team-play fun with the use of vehicles, while sharp-shooters can snipe lonely players from an almost undetectable distance. Great fun overall. Co-operative story line mode is great also, allowing two players to play through the single-player missions together, enjoying team work success.

So overall, this game is just plain great, and was the first game in a series of three that have thousands of serious gamer's heart's pumping as the release of Halo 3 approaches later this year (2007).
