Most people like Halo a lot, and there’s a lot of reason to like it. One thing most people don’t mention much when they talk about Halo is that the missions are often quite repetitive. The Level “Assault on the Control Room” will have you circling stupid roundabouts endlessly tracking down more and more of the same stupid grunts. The A.I. of the grunts isn’t exactly “bad,” –it is frequently stupid in creative and entertaining ways, (“Artificial Stupidity,” if you will), but it isn’t enough to make certain parts of the level enjoyable. OK, on other parts of the level you get to use a tank. Here’s something else I haven’t heard too many people talk about yet: have you ever brought the tank into the first underground area (You know, with the nearly bottomless cavern, and the two bridges…) in multiplayer? If you do, park the tank on one side of the board, and have the other member of your team use a sniper rifle to scope the enemies from the other side. You can triangulate, and call in the shots from the tank. Because you can see where the tank shots are hitting, you can direct your friend in the tank to re-aim accordingly. Soon you will utterly wipe out the covenant force on the opposite side of the ravine. Now, the library is just plain grueling. My friends and I don’t play this level very much.
