Halo has a great story and plot, which is presented nicely in the game with few plot twists. The vehicles are one of the highlights of the game. There are quite a number of vehicles you can use in the game. You can take allies in some of your vehicles for extra firepower and the controls for it are stable. The multiplayer has to be the best part of Halo. It has excellent setup options for both online and offline. The maps are well designed for the multiplayer and there are number of modes to chooses from and they all top notch. The music and sounds used in Halo is unique and keeps the action moving.
One of the downfall, the level design for this game is very repetitive and linear. The rooms repeat themselves until you reach the end of the level, then the whole process starts again with every new level you go to. The gameplay is also very repetitive and often boring, you fight the same enemies over and over again and there is hardly any variety in the enemies and there is no real strategy involved for talking down your enemies, you just shoot and they fall. The game has bugs and the frame-rate is not stable and requires high end system for no lagging.
Halo is just a standard shooter. Nothing is evolved, even though the titles says that. But halo still offers some satisfying game play for first-person gamers.
