First, I think the people comparing COD and Halo are misguided. While both games are FPS they are not the same type of game. Halo plays a bit slower, emphasizes grandiose experiences and game-play. COD attempts to be more realistic, fast paced, with solid controls. The two games aim to produce different gaming experiences in the same genre, to judge them with the same standards is unfair to a person looking to these reviews for insight to the game. I have played COD and I was not a fan not b/c the game was bad but b/c the game was not for me.

Now to the review. I thought the story in Halo Reach had a great premise but it lacked in character development, generally that is not a huge deal in FPS but when the game was advertised and set up around 6 Spartans, I would like to have learned more about them and their depth. I also thought that the ending left many unanswered questions; How did Master Chief get on to the Pillar of Autom; If Cortana chose Noble 6 what made her then switch to Master Chief; If Cortana was Alien A.I. how come that just comes up now and not before; I was mostly upset, I wanted to learn more about Master Chief in the ending and was left with nothing; I would liked to have known what happened to Noble 3 and Dr. Hasely.

All in all the game is fun action packed and gives a sense that you are fighting a losing battle but it just lacked depth to really pull me in. Multiplayer is tons of fun. the new armor variants add re playability and fun to the mix. Overall, I enjoy the multiplayer, I have not played it as much so will hold critiques of it for a later time.

Bottom line, a successful game that could have been GREAT but ended up being good.
