Halo: Reach is a huge step forward from Halo 3. Better gameplay, better story, better game.
Then there is ODST... yeah we'll forget I said that...
Taking place before Halo Combat Evolved Halo Reach puts you in the shoes of someone only called "Noble Six", a member of a group of Spartans called "Noble Team".
The game begins as you investigate a distress beacon sent out by some farmers who claim something killed their son out in the field while he was working. Upon further investigation as to what killed the farmer, surprise surprise. It's the Covenant.
From there the story continues on as Noble team tries to defend Reach from the invading Covenant.
There were some surprises during the campaign and for the first time in Halo, I actually felt like I was truly in a war. I won't say anything more for the story, you'll have to see it for yourself.
Graphics are a HUGE improvement over Halo 3. Halo Reach is actually a very impressive game to look at.
Gameplay still feels like Halo, except now you need health packs (like the one's in CE and ODST) to replenish health. Armor abilities like Jetpacking, sprinting, and a bubble shield that revives health, have been added to spice up the gameplay. These abilities play a huge role in how Reach is played.
Now about multiplayer. It's even better than Halo 3's. But there is one problem. The playlists. I think they should have playlists dedicated to things like SWAT and Team Snipers, instead you have to get them by luck when you pick team slayer.
Forge also makes a return and now the possibilities are endless. Theater mode is actually is worse now, because only one person can be in it. And Firefight? Yeah, it's back, and yeah it's awesome. Now you can customize it like custom games!
With all this Halo Reach easily is one of the best games of this year. Let's go over the pros and cons shall we?
Pros: Stunning visuals, great simple gameplay, improved forge. Epic Story.
Cons: Matchmaking doesn't have many playlists. Theater only viewed by one person. Firefight can get really laggy.
