The decent campaign, teamed with firefight and forge make the game well worth it, matchmaking? I don't know..

Let's go back to November 2004, Halo 2 releases a sequel to one of my favorite shooters. I get it home, me and my brother start up so coop, and I soon realise... this has to be one of the most boring and generic FPS game I've ever played. Only saving grace, which actually made it worth the money? Matchmaking.

Ok, September 2007, Halo 3 releases and I'm a little iffy about it. This time with friends I was actually able to get through coop without getting frustrated at how bored I was getting playing a video game. Over the next year I get about 1,300 matchmaking games in.

9/14/10 Reach comes in the mail, having only bought it because my friends did I don't know what to expect. First thing I tried was firefight, since I didn't get ODST, and I can definitely say that might be my favorite part of this game. I get around to campaign, which I already beat on Legendary, it wasn't great but I wouldn't say it was bad. It was pretty decent, but it's still the typical "run through this level and kill everything" Halo campaign. I haven't played much forge but a friend has made some fun stuff, like basketball version of griffball.

The only part that disappointing me this time is the matchmaking. For one, you'll be playing a lot of SWAT and snipers, that I personally don't mind but I know a lot of people who despise those game types. Other than that, it seems fine, but I just cannot get into it. It just feels boring, and the special abilities ruin it. Call me a whiner, but splattering isn't fun anymore because of armor lock. Also the different weapons just don't feel fun to use, I miss my BR, a decent AR, even the shotgun in this game feels weaker. Even the maps kinda suck, I haven't played much enough to remember all the map names but there are only 3 that I personally enjoy.

To wrap it up, I'll recommend it for the firefight and forge and maybe even campaign. My problems with the multiplayer matchmaking is obviously personal but I can't say I enjoy it enough to recommend, especially to those that dislike SWAT and Snipers, I'd say 1 in 5 matches you get normal slayer.
