Halo: Reach doesn't disappoint.......almost

Let's be clear, I love the Halo franchise. I own all the Bungie games and have read all but one of the books. Halo Reach stands alone as the best game of the franchise for a few reasons. A fantastic, well-paced and challenging single player campaign. Multiplayer that I believe is second to none. Theater mode to go back and watch all those great moments again. Forge to create your own playground and of course, Firefight, the standout addition to the franchise much improved from ODST. This game really does have so many great moments, I would have spent $100 on the game, it's that worth it. Most games I've played lately just haven't grabbed me the way the Halo games always do, and this one is certainly no exception. I really don't think that there is a way for anyone to not have fun playing this game. That said, and I hate to nit-pick, but is one jarring error in this game: the friendly AI. Since when did your allies drive Warthogs like they were five year old kids? I'll tell you when, Halo 2. 2004. Why in this final culmination of the series are you not able to count on either Marines or even fellow Spartans to drive competently while you man the turret? I should have been able to enjoy all the epic moments of the game while manning the gun but instead, I got so ticked off after my Spartan or Marine driver was constantly running into walls and barriers of any kind that I would just drive myself and make someone else man the turret. In one level I even left Kat behind because she kept driving into walls, then wouldn't man the gun after I got in to drive. Very disappointing to be sure. Ah well, I still love this game and I think anyone with an Xbox 360 should play this game because overall, it is fantastic.
