Bungie Goes Out With a Bang.

User Rating: 9.5 | Halo: Reach X360
Halo Reach is the sixth game in the Halo franchise, which plays as the prequel to the first Halo game. Reach is not a watered down version of Halo 3 nor is it the same as the BETA that was released months ago. Bungie went back to the roots of Halo 1 and 2, and incorporated a brilliant game that delivers a solid campaign and an awesome online experience. The campaign in Reach is by far the best out of all the Halo games, maybe tied with Halo 1. CAMPAIGN -The story keeps you hooked and it won't bore you. Interesting characters make the story even better and add to the overall mood of the game. First person cut scenes really intensify the campaign and don't bore the player. The campaign isn't too long and can be beaten in about 10-12 hours, but let's be honest people the campaign isn't the main attraction in this game. Players can also play the campaign in 4 player coop. While playing they can play score attack game types and either play cooperatively or competitively. MULTIPLAYER- Now onto the multiplayer. Reach's multiplayer is amazing. The matchmaking is perfect and never crashes or takes forever to find other players. Bungie has even revamped the EXP progression system further and creates an experience that every player can jump into. The EXP ranking is totally different from previous halo games and it works well. Instead of having a number in front of your name for each gametype, you have one symbol rank for everything. To gain EXP you can compete in online matches, play firefight, play the campaign or complete challenges. Everything goes towards your overall rank except for custom matches. The challenges you can achieve change everyday, creating a fresh new experience everyday. There's even a weekly challenge to go for that gives you a big bonus, but is more challenging. Customization of your online character is great and shows personal taste, however there aren't that many pieces of armor to choose from, like how each helmet only has two addable features. The last great thing in the multiplayer feature is the Slayer Arena, which is really fun and intensifies the competitiveness by rating players for how well they perform in matches. After a certain amount of days of being rated a player will be placed in a division. This is all done in the game, no websites, no sign ups, its in the game which is awesome. Another good thing to add is that the maps are actually good, some are made in the forge editor and are played in matchmaking, such as Bungies "Sanctuary", "Ascension" and "Ivory Tower" from Halo 2. The multiplayer component and campaign in Reach is a huge step up from Halo 3. The only minor complaints I have against this game is 1. Need more armor pieces in armory, 2. Sometimes the frame rate moves slow in the campaign, but other than that it is an amazing game. If you are on the fence on buying this game you should definitely go for it!
