Halo: Reach keeps the "Halo" feel without being unoriginal

User Rating: 9 | Halo: Reach X360
"Halo: Reach" is a superb combination of intense multiplayer and local matches, an outstanding campaign, and solid extras. Since the first Halo game was made in 2001, the game developers have been constantly expanding and improving the game, leading up to Reach, which show to be the peak of the series' genius. First, the online multiplayer has taken a new format since the previous game in the Halo series. They did an excellent job of making a playlist setting that makes it easier to go match to match without a need to set up each game. Some hardcore fans of the series don't appreciate this. Although, while playing locally, the player is able to customize the matches all they want. They have even expanded on customization by adding "forge world" which allows players to create and edit their own maps. And, new to the series, Halo: Reach has added a ranking system that allows players to track their progress, and unlock customizable features for their character. Lastly, the campaign brings a new, and improved aspect to the series. Instead of fighting hordes of enemies alone, the player now has a squad to assist them. Some fans of the series did not like certain things about this game, but none of them deny that Halo: Reach has the best single player experience that the series has ever had to offer. The realistic graphics, new weapons, engaging story line, and new combat feel all add up to a wonderful and exciting experience. I would give Bungie's "Halo: Reach" a 9.0 out of 10.
