A must play, if only for the multiplayer.

I can't say I am a big Halo fan. I liked the first one and not any other until now. Halo: Reach suffers from an uninspired and repetitive campaign mode. You play as Noble Six, and you are in a squad of boring unmemorable people to complete a task in which everyone keeps remind you that you will die. I completed it solo in two sessions of playing on heroic mode and it was not a cake walk for me. I am a huge fan of first person shooters but this game is so frustrating to play alone. Whether its the kamikaze grunts or the relentless waves of elites (which your AI controlled allies will not help with one bit) you are bound to die regardless of skill level. I have no problem with hordes of enemies but it just was not fun. At a certain point the game will decide to mix things up a bit but its not long or very entertaining. With that said I enjoyed the (finally) updated and quite beautiful graphics. I would occasionally find myself staring at the sky in awe for the battle that is much greater than you. The campaign though as a whole is too absurd in difficulty at points and takes away from the cinematic approach that should have been done. Co-op is the only way to go.
The multiplayer is more of the same. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because the game looks a lot better. The armor upgrades are cool and you can save your ass kicking matches (and delete all the games where you got your ass kicked). The multiplayer is still fast paced, exciting, and rewarding but some modes will make you want to throw your xbox out the window (ahem, headhunter). It's fun for once in a while but as the last Halo from Bungie I wish they had added bots for the multiplayer.
Buy this game if you love Halo. Pass it if you don't want more of the same.
