User Rating: 9.5 | Halo: Reach X360
Halo Reach is the prequel to an already established series of games. It does justice to the franchise and tells you just how it all started.A great game to debunk call of duty fanboys, it is indeed the best good-bye gift Bungie could have given to the millions of Halo fans. This game boasts an intense campaign with an excellent multiplayer which will keep you busy for the rest of this year. Halo: Reach is set in the year 2552 in the fantasy planet Reach. It tells the story of Spartan soldier from noble team, noble 6. It has a great cinematic experience and the weapon design, environmental design etc is just flawless. Pixels literally haunt this game. It may well be one of the most beautiful games on the 360 and a blow to the PS3 economy. Getting to individual game mode descriptions:

Career:

Career mode lasts about 6-7 hours on normal difficulty but much more on higher difficulties like legendary and heroic. It has a good replay value and many achievements to keep you busy. The storytelling is brilliant and the level design left me speechless. There are some minor graphic glitches here and there but they don't really show that much. My favorite level was Long Night Of Solace. You need to play it to believe the awesomeness. The career isn't as amazing as the other Halo games but has it's own class. Most of the levels are generally good with vehicles to ride. One of the vehicles I particularly liked was the ghost. The ghost looks like a mini aircraft and belongs to the covenant. It is small, streamlined, fast, has guns and turbo,

Firefght:

Great way to spend some quality time with the game. In this mode, a horde of aliens show up and you need to kill as many as you can. You can virtually edit anything in this, from guns to shields. It is fun to play alone but a lot better when you have a bunch of pals along with you to accompany you in your game. You can either play as Spartans or the Elites in this mode. If you like it, this mode will keep you busy for a long time. Also, this mode has a host of achievements which are easy and fun to unlock.

Matchmaking:

Matchmaking is great with a wealth of options. This is where the main strength of the game lies. It is epic and will keep you occupied for months. It is die-hard fun and just brilliant. Halo:Reach matchmaking is really multiplayer gaming redefined. Some elements have been borrowed from games like call of duty but it doesn't really matter. There are many modes matchmaking but one of them which I really like is Infection. You play as a zombie or a spartan soldier. As a zombie, you are given a power sword with which you can pass your infection. As a spartan soldier, your role is to kill the zombies and retain your purity.

Fileshare:

Fileshare is another feature which is introduced by Halo: Reach. This is used by Halo fans to share their gameplay videos, firefight modes etc. It has been implemented well and does what it says.

The Armory:

In this, you can customize your soldier's armor, color and your multiplayer emblem. It offers a host of different armor choices and you can unlock more by raising your rank and earning credits (which is done through various game modes). Changing your armor increases your resistance to bullets. This is a new feature introduced in Halo: Reach and a really like it because in previous Halo games, you had to look for armor pieces in career.

Gameplay elements:

Graphics: Wow! Stunning! Amazing! Words can't describe the beauty of this game. It probably has the best graphics available on the system. Every small detail is vividly highlighted and you really cant find faults with the graphics of this game.

Soundtrack: Amazing! Perfectly designed for the levels and menus, Many games don't get this right but Reach does. It is a feast to the ears and will make you want to turn up the volume.

All in all, this is a great game recommended to all FPS fans and anyone who wants to try out the Halo franchise. This indeed is a great beginning to a great end!
