Halo: Reach starts out fairly well, putting you in the shoes of a new recruit. The characters are not very developed, however, although the core story is decent. The gameplay is really nothing new, but throws on new elements such as an expanding reticule and armor abilities. This really doesn't add much to the game except for timing and frustration. Being a veteran of the Halo series, I have only had moments of frustration, but in Reach, the terrible spawn system, poorly done maps, and tacked on features were just too much. Spawn trapping is terrible in Reach. There are times when it is literally impossible to escape a spawn trap. The weapons are not balanced well, but as with any Halo game, a race for the power weapons is a necessity. With this being the last Halo game, it would have made sense to stick to the basics, instead of adding features such as the armor abilities. They do not add anything interesting to the game, but instead make it more difficult to play, especially for new players to the series. The sprint is the most commonly used ability and I constantly experienced people who would simply sprint at you and double pummel. It is very common in multiplayer and takes a lot away from the game. With the sprint, this also makes the sword very overpowered, as one of the things that keeps it balanced is the ability to keep away from someone with the sword and use range to your advantage. This is not possible in Reach, as they simply sprint to you, closing that distance. Although the armor-lock and invisibility are somewhat like overshield and active camo, they are both also overpowered, as you can use them whenever. Both overshield and active camo had a time limit, which made it so that they were less effective. This element is done away with in Reach. I thought that Bungie cared about their community more than they have showed, but it seems they are just like every other game developer and simply want money and tossed out a game that was using it's previous popularity to its advantage, and with a combination of useless features, terrible, linear maps that were done with little effort or none (half a**ed remakes), and an awful spawn system, this game is certainly overrated. I was once a huge Halo fan, but that has quickly faded with Bungie's lack of attention to detail, effort, and corruption.
To be Honest I'm not fan of Halo because Halo series mostly is base on Multiplayer but Halo Reach has very great camping and powerful story which makes you like it so much. The Story: The Story is about story of no... Read Full Review
I didn't have high hopes for Reach. After playing Halo 3 (which was basically just a compilation of what Bungie wanted to do with Halo 2 but ran out of time), I thought I was completely done with Halo as a franchise. To ... Read Full Review
