It is not often that we can claim witness to a game as glorious as the Harlem Globetrotters: World Tour.
The graphics are excellent. I have not seen a game with graphics of this quality since Quake 4. And what's more, this game offers such great graphics on the Nintendo GBA! When I play Harlem Globetrotters: World Tour, I feel like I'm actually at Boston Gardens, with Larry Byrd in the crowd, and the Globetrotters are working their magic on the court. It's really a wonderous sight to behold.
The jump shots are really amazing. They start out at the bottom screen, and then progress through up to the top screen! Using the Nintendo GBA pen you can even specify the path of the jump shot before it is made. This lets you make some truly amazing jump shots. At the end you can even put in a slam dunk! It is 10/10 for jump shots!
One thing I disliked was that the three point line is too faint. I keep trying to make a three point shot, but then I find that I just go one inch too far over the line, and the shot only counts for two points. I almost beat the Harlem Globetrotters in one game, but I lost by one point because I just couldn't see the line. So I give Harlem Globetrotters: World Tour a 6/10 on its three point line because it is just too faint and it makes me lose three points.
I don't like the sound. I don't know what the players are saying sometimes. They speak a language that is very ghetto, and I do not understand some of the words they are saying! Maybe I am just playing the Japanese version of the game, though. There is Japanese writing on the cartridge, but I don't know if that's because it's a Japanese version of the game, or if that is just markings they used during the manufacturing process.
When I play it, the game is in English. So I think I have the English version, but I still don't like the audio because I don't know what the players are saying. It's very hard to play in Harlem Globetrotters coach mode because the players come to talk to you, and you sometimes don't know what they're saying! One player says he wants to go for the free throw, but I thought he wanted to go for a three point shot, and so I told him to do it. We needed three points to win the game, but he only got two points, and so we lost. I give the audio 8/10. It is good but I can't understand the words they are saying.
Harlem Globetrotters: World Tour is a really remarkable game. It probably took years to develop I think, and it was made by very remarkable people with lots of talents. If I was to bring together a top development team and the Harlem Globetrotters, I think Harlem Globetrotters: World Tour is the kind of game I'd want to achieve. And that is exactly what happened! So overall I give the game 9/10. It has really great gameplay and the graphics are cool, but I don't always know what the players are saying because it's difficult for my ears to hear what they speak. I think you should play this game! It is grand.
