The last entry of Harry Potter franchise is most certainly an improvement over the last game, but still isn't awesome.
Graphics 6/10
Somehow, I think that the previous game was a bit better in this departement, although, some character models look quite decent. There are lots of muddy textures all over the place, as in the previous game. Overall, it's not that awful, but it's no eye-candy either. There are some occasional sights that might catch your eye, for example, the Chamber of Secrets or The Gringotts, but that's about it.
Sound 8/10
The music is one of my absolute favorites in any of the recent Harry Potter games. There are some beautiful melodies in the game and sometimes I just wanted to just stand and listen to them, but eventually, there were some Death Eaters to kill. Voice acting is decent. The problem was more in the writing as the script was lacking any story. The sound effects are nothing more than a few explosions, but the game is not too demanding, as explosions are pretty much everything this game consists of.
Gameplay 6/10
As with the previous game in the series, it's a cover shooter. And that's it. All you do is take cover and shoot the same Death Eaters over and over and over again. Although it sounds dull, it's not that bad, because the cover system works (which I can't say about the previous game) and the spells are varied and there really is a use for all of them. There are many characters you play as in 12 chapters, but they all play the same, except for Harry, as he can Apperate (it's a cool feature). There are some quick time events and some ''running from something'' levels, but overall, the game doesn't stray aside from what it is.
Presentation 5/10
As with the previous games - it doesn't do much justice to the story. It's just a supplementary work to the books if you're lacking imagination. There are some unattractive loading screens. Nothing special, really plain.
Replay value 5/10
There are some easy to find collectibles. You can unlock challenge modes of the same 12 chapters you finish in the story mode, you can unlock several character models, a new difficulty setting and 12 or so music tracks. Considering that the game is about 4 hours long, there's not much to come back for.
You will be satisfied, if you're a huge Harry Potter fan and if you want some sneak-peak of the movie while it's not out, but you will be wanting for more, that I can guarantee.
By the way, when you finish the game there's this writing that says ''Thanks for playing'', and then it's showing video montage from all the Harry Potter games. It's real nostalgic, and as I grew up with Harry, it almost made me cry. So many memories...
I never would have thought I would miss these mostly crappy games. Bye, Harry.
