"Another Wonderful Life" fits in a more compelling way than to indicate a sequel. Once you're hooked on this game you'll be cutting off "real life" in no time. My sleep schedule is severely lacking since I really got into this game, and it's WORTH it! Sure, the chores around the house aren't getting done, but everything down at the farm is in order, so how about some slack! At the outset, the concept here sounds simplictic. I was a skeptic, wondering if I would be fulfilled playing a game like this. But I am so glad I tried it, because just like you should never judge a book by it's cover, this game is so much more than meets the eye upon glancing at the back of the box and what it's about. There are a lot of details in the game that require strategy, and time and money management is important. The seasons change, making the game more interesting, and less static, but, more importantly, it affects what you need to do, and tests your ability to plan. Didn't fertilize your pasture enough in the summer, and cut it for fodder? You're in for a long hard winter of paying through the ying yang for overpriced retail fodder. Trying to plant strawberries in mid-summer? You're going to be having strawberry shortcake, hold the strawberries, for dessert. This game gives you plenty to do - things you need to do to succeed in the game, such as getting all your chores done (milking the cow=money from the milk, watering the crops=no dead crops, etc.) plus, extra stuff you can do at your whim like fishing, thinking up new recipies, and archaeological digs. And then of course there's the quest for Mr. Right... Strict feminists might consider the "getting hitched" to progress in the game offensive. But lighten up! For a videogame character, that Rock sure is gosh darn cute and enough to make anyone get over a hangup like that in a New York minute! This game isn't for everyone. If you hate strategy or sim type games then this may not be your idea of Another Wonderful Game. You don't get to shoot at stuff, there's no blood, and rival gang members don't pick fights with you. BUT if you are into this genre of game this is sure to please. It is one of the most addictive games of it's type I've ever played. And okay, I just have to say it, it is delectably cute. Definitely the "cutest" game I've ever played (sorry Animal Crossing devotees - it really is a lot cuter). The adorable farm animals are simply "awwwww" inspiring! (Pun intended). So if you like strategy and sim at all definitely don't pass this one up. It's addictively fun and there's plenty to keep you entertained and interested for serious gameplay hours.
